Stinger Sports

Stinger Sports has established itself as a respected American sporting goods and athletic apparel company by focusing on one central idea: performance equipment should be durable, reliable, and accessible to athletes at every level. Founded on October 15, 2015, by former players Brandon Eaton and Sean Eighmey, the company specializes in baseball and softball equipment while also offering custom uniforms for multiple team sports. Headquartered in Fort Mill, South Carolina, Stinger Sports continues to grow by staying close to the needs of players, teams, and organizations across the United States.

The origins of Stinger Sports trace back to Corning, New York, where Eaton and Eighmey began building the company with a clear understanding of the challenges faced by youth and amateur athletes. Both founders had firsthand experience with the cost of equipment and the impact it can have on participation. Their goal was not to chase trends, but to create products that delivered consistent performance without unnecessary expense. Early efforts focused on premium wood baseball bats, developed with direct player feedback and an emphasis on balance, feel, and durability.

Instead of rushing into wide distribution, Stinger Sports spent its early years refining its products and building trust through personal relationships with teams and travel programs. Coaches and players became an extension of the development process, offering insights that helped shape design improvements. This grassroots approach allowed the company to grow steadily while maintaining control over quality and pricing. Over time, Stinger Sports earned a reputation for offering professional level materials that remained attainable for families and organizations.

As demand expanded, the company broadened its product range to include metal bats, batting gloves, fielding gloves, protective gear, bat grips, and related accessories. This expansion reflected a thoughtful progression rather than a rapid shift in direction. Each new product category followed the same guiding principles that shaped the original bats: durability, comfort, and practical performance during repeated use. By addressing common wear issues and focusing on long term reliability, Stinger Sports positioned itself as a brand built for real playing conditions.

A defining moment in the company’s development came with the creation of Secure Seam Technology for batting gloves. This patent pending design was developed to strengthen the area where gloves most often fail. By reinforcing the seam through a seamless construction approach, the gloves offered extended life without sacrificing flexibility or feel. The innovation received national recognition when it earned the Best of Show Award at the 2023 American Baseball Coaches Association Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, as recognized by Collegiate Baseball. Players across the country reported improved durability and longer use compared to traditional designs.

Beyond equipment, Stinger Sports expanded into custom uniforms and team apparel, responding to the needs of organizations seeking consistency, quality, and efficient ordering. The company began by serving baseball and softball programs, then extended its offerings to football, soccer, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, and volleyball. Custom design services, material selection, and program based ordering systems became a core part of the business. This division strengthened long term partnerships with youth leagues and competitive organizations nationwide.

Operational growth followed the company’s expanding footprint. In early 2021, Stinger Sports officially based its operations in Rock Hill, South Carolina, after being managed remotely for a period of time. Founder and chief executive officer Brandon Eaton had relocated to the region several years earlier while continuing to guide company strategy. The move provided greater operational stability and supported closer collaboration with teams and partners.

In 2024, Eaton completed the purchase of a 16000 square foot facility located at 108 Spratt Street in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The building, formerly used as a retail showroom, was transformed into a space supporting warehousing, expanded operations, and team partnerships. The facility also serves as a training site through a partnership with Legacy Baseball, a travel baseball organization based in Fort Mill. This integration of operations and player development reflects the company’s commitment to remaining connected to the sport.

Stinger Sports also operates Stingerwoodbats.com, a dedicated platform focused on wood and BBCOR certified bats, batting gloves, custom gloves, fungo bats, and personalized equipment options. The site offers both custom made and pro stock products, allowing players to choose equipment that fits their preferences and level of play.

Distribution is handled through a combination of direct online sales, online marketplaces such as Amazon, and structured uniform and apparel programs for teams and leagues. These channels allow the company to serve individual athletes as well as large organizations while maintaining consistent service and customization standards.

Stinger Sports has supported national and youth sports organizations through sponsorships and equipment partnerships. Its involvement includes participation in the High School Baseball National Championship Series, which is broadcast on ESPN, along with collaborations with Baseball Youth and Softball Youth organizations. The company has also served as a gear partner during College World Series activities at Omaha Baseball Village.

At its foundation, Stinger Sports operates with a clear philosophy centered on value and durability. By reducing financial barriers and focusing on practical performance, the company continues to support athletes who rely on dependable equipment season after season. Through steady growth, product innovation, and meaningful partnerships, Stinger Sports remains committed to redefining what accessible performance looks like in baseball and softball.
